About Hollywood
Cozy Central Business District
Like a thriving small town in the middle of the city, the Hollywood District is equal parts charm and convenience. While celebrity sightings are rare compared to its more famous SoCal counterpart, the neighborhood appreciates film. It was named after the historic Hollywood Theatre. Built in 1926, the theatre shows a wide variety of movies, and has hosted many special guests including Quentin Tarantino, Pam Grier, and Piper Laurie. The Hollywood District is also known for big, old, cozy homes. So it’s no surprise children’s author Beverly Cleary lived up the street and featured the neighborhood in her Klickitat Street book series. The Hollywood Library even provides a Beverly Cleary walking tour.
