Mark and Ariel bought their first home together in Portland in 2013. It was a lovely, small victorian home in SE Portland. As their family grew they needed a larger home and eventually moved to a newer, colonial style home. Last year we began their search for their next home. One with a larger outdoor space and a view. The search took us to the outskirts of NW Portland where we visited a number of homes on 2 plus acres with lovely view, but most of these homes were in need of extensive updates. Mark and Ariel even explored the idea of being a piece of land and building a home.
One weekend when we weren’t touring homes Ariel sent me a link to a beautiful Victorian in Willamette Heights. It is a grand home with a small yard and huge views. This was not an area they were looking in, but the draw back to a Victorian home was so strong for Mark and Ariel that we went to tour the home. I communicated to the listing agent Mark and Ariel’s long lasting love of Victorian architecture and this home in particular. The sellers were able to connect the Mark and Ariel with their appreciation of Victorian homes. They also had confidence that Mark and Ariel know the quirks of older homes and would appreciate these instead of finding flaw in them. I am so excited to give Mark and Ariel the keys to their new home, and a little piece of Portland history.
