Power Couple; Power Moves

By Living Room Realty, May 28, 2019

Stefan and Emily moved from New York over to Portland in hopes of finding the perfect spot to settle down and start a family. Both of them medical professionals, they work ridiculously hard to reach their goals- which showed during this transaction.

After looking at many different homes, they fell absolutely head over heels for this cutie in Alberta Arts and it’s easy to see why! I advised them to write a competitive offer -over asking and creative terms- because there were four other competing offers and knew they needed to submit their highest and best. They ended up just barely beating the competing offers, and they were so excited to be one step closer to purchasing their dream home.

After a low-ball appraisal, we thought we weren’t going to be able to keep the transaction together. Stefan and Emily were able to make educated -but difficult- decisions to ensure they did whatever they could on their end to come to a reasonable compromise. After some back and forth with the sellers -and with the help of the expertise and negotiating skills of Jim Arnal- we were able to negotiate with the sellers to meet us halfway!

This resilient, optimistic (but realistic) power couple did whatever they could to get their dream home… and it paid off. They are happy to have joined the Alberta Arts community, and can’t wait for the arrival of their first child in October knowing they will have a wonderful place to call home!
