When Jessica & Joel visited Portland last year to see if this was the big city they wanted to move to once they decided to leave Orcas Islands, it didn’t take long to know Portland would be their new home. Within 2 hours of being in Portland they were invited to join a “kid rock crew” they still don’t know what that means but just being invited felt like they had met the cool kids. Portlands diversity and beauty helped make the transition from the San Juan Islands an easy one.
They found the sweetest stucco house on the edge of Alameda neighborhood that feels a little slower paced than a lot of the Eastside homes we looked at. That coupled with the proximity of so many amazing local breweries, they knew they this was home. They miss the sounds of Donkeys braying on the island but they love all the new big city sounds which are more pleasant than the donkeys ~Mostly.
