After years of working in social services Tim just got hired on as a full time teacher for Milwaukie High School. Lyndsay and Tim were bursting the seams of their tiny 1 bedroom apartment and were eager to find their own home. They wanted to live SE or Milwaukie to be close to Tim’s new job and so Lyndsay could shorten her commute. Lyndsay really wanted a home on a big lot so she could put her knowledge of gardening to use. Growing up on a farm in Canby and working for a small publishing company specializing in gardening and horticulture books this only seemed natural.
Finding the right home to fit in their budget would be a challenge but Lyndsay’s parents are amazing and offered to put up cash for them to buy a house that they could then later refinance in order to pay them back. In our market cash isn’t always King but it can definitely help when it comes to being the winning bid.
We finally found their dream home on a quiet street with room for a nice garden… and of course, there were 6 other people who wanted it too!.
We were able to write a very strong cash offer and offered to close just 3 days after inspections. We also sent along a love letter to the sellers. The Sellers loved all of it! They had already relocated to northern Washington and needed a quick close. We found out later that the sellers were also a teacher and a gardener! A meant to be, win -win for everybody!
