Everything Happens for a Reason

By Living Room Realty, September 11, 2019

My clients reached out a few months ago, ready to start their search for a new, larger home. They had outgrown their condo, and while they love it, they needed a bigger space for their sweet pup, Murray. About a month later, I sent them the perfect house. A super cute ranch on a large, level (fenced!) lot. I previously lived about two blocks from this house and knew the vacant school is often used as a dog park. We went and saw the house, they loved it and we wrote an offer. And then, they received another offer.

The Friday that I wrote the offer, I had left town for a girl’s weekend with my besties. There was some negotiating that night while I was at a concert, and the next morning the seller’s agent called to see if the offer we submitted was our best and highest. I told her I would need to chat with my clients and get back to her. I called, texted and called. No answer from my clients. I was stressing. I checked in with the SA, told her my clients were not answering, but they most likely would be willing to go a bit higher. About two hours after my first call, my clients called me back. They were willing to go higher! I let the SA know and she informed me they already countered the other offer. Lame. I was so bummed for my clients. We took back up offer and two weeks later, received the call I love…the other buyer backed out! My clients just closed on their perfect new digs and I couldn’t be happier!
