Blog Buyer For the Love of Pho

For the Love of Pho

By Living Room Realty, September 25, 2019

Portland is known for it’s diverse and eclectic neighborhoods. You’ve got the Alberta Arts, the vibrant Pearl, the shopping and date night mecca of the Alphabet District…but I’m christening the stretch of Sandy from 61st to 70th Portland’s Pho Neighborhood!

As the leaves start to change and a chill is in the air, nothing sounds better than a big bowl of hot comforting Pho!

Taking a gut-busting tour of this stretch, we start with Pho Corner. Pho Corner is devoted to serving customers mouthwatering dishes that feature the highest quality ingredients available. One block away is Pho An Sandy,  which has the top rated bowl in town by Fearless Critic. A few more blocks North on Sandy, you’ll stop at Yen Ha – serving up steaming bowls of pho since 1984. They have a lounge next door if you need a beer break (or perhaps a nap?) I hope you’ve saved room, last stop on our tour is Mekah – voted the #1 best bowl of pho by the Oregonian! Their reasoning? “The broth is sweet but not cloying, with lots of clove and star anise and a healthy shake of black pepper. The meat and toppings are tasty and abundant. The noodles are thin and smoothly, nicely cooked – elegant noodles. The condiments include the classics of sriracha, hoisin, chili oil, soy and fish sauce, and also includes the signature house garlic condiment.”

Ok – maybe 4 bowls of pho in one night is a little excessive….but luckily for my buyers their new home is smack dab in the middle of this steamy stretch and they can have their pick of pho anytime!
