It happens frequently that people casually search for their next home without an expectation of when they are actually going to move. It is a daunting task when you have kids, have a home to sell and/or a demanding occupation. Most folks want to know what they are buying before selling. It can lead to a lot of long conversations in the year or two leading up to making the leap.
During that time there will be a house or two that comes up on the radar. Sometimes we have a quick chat about it and decide not to tour for one reason or another. Other times we talk in circles until one of us ultimately says: “maybe we should just go check it out anyway?”. I’m still not sure if that is a statement or a question.
I initially met with Megan & James a few years ago right before they were having their second child. The initial plan was to sell then buy before the arrival. After a few realistic conversations and a look at the calendar, we concluded that our plan was quite flawed. We kept in touch and toured some homes now and then, but nothing got too serious. Then in December of 2019 this RAD house came in the Bridlemile Neighborhood of SW Portland.
We went for a look and it was a perfect fit: functional floorplan, well update but not overdone, fantastic location and school district. Welcome to the West-side!
