When I first met Joanna and Sean at an open house in February, they had recently relocated to Portland and were on the search for the perfect home to start their new life in. We had the chance to look at a few properties in different neighborhoods and were able to narrow down the search to their favorite neighborhoods, North and Northeast Portland. When COVID struck we had to put things on pause but during that time, my fantastic business partner, Kim, was telling me about a new listing in the area she thought might be a good fit for Johanna and Sean. The only problem, there wasn’t a garage! One of the main attributes of Sean and Joanna’s dream home was to have a garage for Sean to build a woodworking studio. During the course of the last few months, we had put in offers to multiple homes and were, unfortunately, rejected due to Sean and Joanna’s strong stance on the price they were willing to pay versus the highest bidder. With hope still intact, Kim’s listing hit the market and we discovered that the property actually had a beautiful backyard shed, about the size of a one-car garage. Bingo! This funky and electric, ranch style home with its 3-bedroom, 1 bath as well as its flourishing backyard and with the upgrade of the shed made this the ideal home for Joanna and Sean. Other families thought this was the perfect location as well, thus leading to a multiple buyer situation yet again. However, with the strong and reasonable offer made by my clients and of course the established relationship with the Seller’s agent, Sean and Joanna got the house! Congratulations to these first home buyers!
