The Houston Modern Homes Tour is virtual this year! Although touring in person and experiencing the designs firsthand is always preferable, this event opens home touring to agents, designers, architects, and homeowners across the country. Tomorrow I’ll be attending the virtual event between 8:00 am -3:00 pm, virtually touring incredible Houston homes. I’m ready to soak up some home design Inspiration. Tickets are still live if you want to join me.
Unlike in-person home tours, the virtual event allows viewing access to homes that would have otherwise been closed to crowds of people. The event provides access to photos and videos of each tour afterward, so we can all save our favorite designs and details. Plus, while touring the homes, we can sit in on conversations with architects, designers, and the homeowners.

Eklektik Interiors
Their designs are timeless, modern, and incorporate design elements from all over the world. The ranch home featured in the tour is magnificent, seamlessly incorporating walnut, iron rods, concrete walls, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Their use of different materials is striking, and I’m looking forward to gaining inspiration for future designs!
Gary R. Chandler
Chandler’s designs are known for blending outdoor and indoor living. Everything is connected by line of sight, creating an open-concept feel, even in a closed space. His featured cabana is designed with glass walls facing the backyard and a minimalistic white interior. I am inspired by his connection to nature and curious how I can bring that to life in Portland!
Intecture
While browsing the featured home, this one caught my eye. It is described as a “dwelling unit” — a small home or guest house designed to utilize every inch of space. Because it is built in a controlled environment, rather than on-site, it can be delivered right to your backyard! It is such a unique concept…I’m looking forward to seeing how they utilized the space inside the unit.
