I was between appointments when I saw an email flash across my phone. The email was from a potential client, that was a referral from a friend in another state. I wanted to take a quick second to reach out and simply introduce myself and set up a more formal meeting at their convenience. The phone rang twice and an incredibly friendly (and hilarious) person answered on the other end. We instantly connected while I drove up I5 and knew it was an ideal client if they would have me. That weekend we were able to connect in a more formal conversation including her equally wonderful wife, and it was genuinely a perfect fit. I wanted to not only represent them in their move to Oregon and the purchase of their home, but I also felt a friendly connection that would hopefully last far past closing. They flew into town, and we viewed several homes. I was consistently impressed with their knowledge of the city, their pragmatic mindset and realistic approach of the Portland market. We found a home that was gorgeous, nestled in Lake Oswego and walkable to great areas. After a few unfortunate bumps in the road, we were back to the drawing board. They sent me a list of homes and I took off to the races taking videos and previewing homes while they were on the other side of the country. I pulled up to a home in Happy Valley that sat on top of the hill, chandeliers dancing happily through the windows even at 11 am. I opened the lockbox and entered the home. It took about 4 seconds and I backed out with “that feeling”. I attempted to Facetime Steph. No answer. For the first time ever! Buhh AnSwEr! I called Steph’s other half… NO ANSWER!! I called both of them back and forth in a full excited panic. Finally I was able to FaceTime with Nikki… I shrieked as I said “Steph is going to DIE for this island!! I haven’t even seen the house yet, but I swear this is the one!!!” We were all able to view it together thanks to video chat, and knew we had to write an offer. Fast forward a few weeks and here we are… the inspections were absolutely flawless, the appraisal came in at offer, and the sellers have been lovey and gracious as we glide into closing. From a stunning Koi pond, to guest quarters, windows that would bring you to your knees and a view one could only dream of- we did it. I simply can’t say thank you enough to Nikki and Steph for trusting in me, showing pure kindness and patience.. You are both so wonderful and I look forward to many celebrations, soccer games and bubbles in our future!
