Getting ready for that empty nest, Jennifer and Paul set on an adventure in selling and buying at the same time. It’s a big move to make, going from a large home that you’ve raised your family in, to a small place meant more for 3 than for 4. We talked through the pros and cons, and what they would be looking for in a lifestyle change. A smaller home, with less maintenance was at the top of the list. As the kids are taking flight, heading out on their own, traveling and freedom from chores and yard work were at the top of the list. So we made a plan looking at what their house was worth, what they owed, and how much they would have to spend. We narrowed down the area and type of home that made sense given their goals. Understanding those things gave them the confidence they needed to pull the trigger. We started the process in the fall, and chipped away at years of accumulation in a large home, painting, refinishing floors, staging and paring down. When they were finally ready, we put the plan in gear, and everything went perfectly! We found a great buyer for their home and negotiated plenty of time to shop. Then, we put phase two in motion, and knowing exactly what they wanted, were able to easily find the perfect, move-in ready down-sized home they had imagined. Today they get back from Hawaii, and also get the keys to their new house! They are wasting no time getting the adventures started! Big congratulations to Jennifer and Paul for a thoughtful approach, positive spirit and strong plan. Well done!
