Today let’s take a look at the Centennial Neighborhood! Centennial is one of Portland’s largest neighborhoods. While this neighborhood is large it is still walkable and the access to Trimet is amazing! There is no lack of green spaces in this neighborhood. Let’s take a look at a couple.
Parklane Park
This 25-acre park is the perfect place to bring the family, your dog, or even just to get some time to yourself. Right now this park has 5-acres full of activities such as sports courts, picnic tables, playgrounds. At the beginning of next year, they plan to utilize the space to its full potential. They plan on adding a waterpark, skatepark, community garden, tennis court, walking paths, and more.
Powell Butte Nature Park
Powell Butte is a very popular Portland park and I think we all know why. This beautiful 612-acre greenspace has nine miles of walking trails for you to enjoy. Powell Butte is an extinct volcano sitting on the Boring Lava Field. This park features picnic tables, restrooms, hiking, equestrian, and bicycle trails. One of the best parts is the visitor center run by The Friends of Powell Butte. You can learn all about it’s amazing history, and habitats.
I hope you can go out and check these parks out for yourself and remember to leave no trace!
