Gardening tips for Spring, Success for Summer

By Rachel Cardman-Brewer, March 22, 2022

Now that Spring is starting to feel tangible, it’s time to start thinking about your gardens around your home.  Did you know that right now is one of the best times of year to do new plantings?  Have you been wanting to plant a tree on your property?  New landscaping?  Now is the best time to get plants into the ground and allow them the cooler spring season to get well watered, established and slowly spread their roots.  Planting now will ensure more success through the summer heat.

This is also a great time of year to plant new grass or clover seed.  If you like the look of a green lawn, but don’t like the work of weekly mowing, try planting a dwarf clover instead of grass.  It’s significantly more water wise than grass and requires much less mowing (just enough to keep the flower heads down if you wanna walk on it without getting a bee sting).

Crack those seeds for a real jump on the veggie season!  Get your long season crops started now to ensure and early and bountiful harvest.  Tomatoes and peppers to name a few.

Thinking of listing your house?  Mulch your garden beds.  Not only is this a very easy way to make your garden pop and look great, its also great for thesuccess of your plants year after year. Need any landscaping advice, reach out!

Happy Planting!
