Village Living

By Drew Burchette, May 30, 2018

In Portland there are a bunch of little ‘downtown’ areas. The Hawthorne District, the Vancouver/Williams Corridor, St. John’s and Alberta Arts…just to name a few. These zones are loaded with bars, restaurants and shopping opportunities; they have a down-town feel, but more of a neighborhood vibe when you wonder a few streets off in any direction. As a resident you can walk to some nice amenities without having to necessarily live in the middle of a busy area. On the west side there is really only one such district: Multnomah Village. You could argue that places like Goose Hollow fall into this category, but I would argue that GH is in downtown proper.

When I met with my clients Tom & Reann in the early spring we spoke for an hour over coffee about what they were looking for in a home. Walk-ability was at the top of the list and it slowly came into focus that they were bound for the Westside. Naturally we ended up in Multnomah Village. On our first day out we looked at 7 or 8 properties all over town and it was borderline-discouraging….until the last one. It was a townhome on Capitol Highway on the northeastern edge of the village; there were 8 units in total built in the late 1990’s. The layout was great, location is dynamite and the price was in the ball park of being reasonable. We got an offer accepted for decent amount below asking price and settled on a closing date just a few weeks from acceptance. Welcome to Multnomah Village living!!

I arrived in the real estate business over a decade ago and have since helped scores of people buy and sell their homes. The groundswell that I created in my practice is rooted in the relationships that I have nurtured over the years. My style is educational, and I see myself as the coach and leader of your real estate transaction. My coaching is geared towards empowering you to make informed decisions that will lead to your best possible outcome. I excel at asking the questions that get to the heart of the matter which in turn enables a smooth sale process. Away from the office I am passionate about so many things, but it all begins and ends with my family. My boys are both in elementary school and parenting is an ongoing challenge and joy for my wife and I. We love to travel around Oregon, the East Coast, Mexico and beyond. My passion for surfing, kiteboarding, and fishing help to keep me grounded in life. Read more reviews
