Kenton Cottage SOLD!

By Living Room Realty, August 9, 2018

The north Portland neighborhood of Kenton is one rich with history including being a company town for the Union Meat Company (later Swift) in the early 1900’s.  Portlanders know and treasure the large statue of Paul Bunyan which was built as part of the 1959 Oregon centennial. Today, it welcomes visitors to the main business district of  Denver and the light rail stop. The area, long known by locals as a great place to live, is alive and thriving.

My  buyer Denise and I have been scouring the wonderfully diverse neighborhoods of north Portland over the last several months for just the right place. After a multiple offer competition and a great escrow with co-op agent Daphne,  Denise just closed on this super cute cottage in the vibrant Kenton neighborhood! It’s the perfect compact space with everything she needs, a spacious yard, greenhouse and the added potential of a garage for ADU expansion.  It is indeed a lovely fit for a lovely person!

I first met Denise when she and her then husband walked into my open house many years ago. We clicked and I helped them into their first home in Alameda where they stayed for 17 years before moving to a family farm in Washington.  Life then brought changes and Denise found herself in Portland full time and wanting to make a home of her own.  We set out in May to achieve that goal for her and luckily, found the right place in fairly short order, largely due to her clarity and determination. I have long treasured the long term nature of our connection but being part of helping her make a home as she embarks on a new, exciting journey is a huge honor for me.  I couldn’t be happier for her–here’s to the next adventure filled chapter, dear Denise!
