I met Jason and Lara on the 4th of July last year. We met through a mutual friend who set up a group camping trip. I found out then that they were architects and ran a company called Workaday Design. The topic turned to real estate and over the last year plus, we’ve gotten together a few times, occasionally just as friends, occasionally with Jake for Houselab/Workaday group thinks. We talked about helping them getting into home renovations. We tossed around the idea of new builds. And just recently we closed on a property that could give them an opportunity to do both, simultaneously.
They found an amazing mid century time capsule, featured on the Oregonian, and we put in an offer. There were 10 offers total, but their background, and a strange common background with the sellers, won them the deal! They now own a home that they’ll be restoring with grace and character. Best of all, the home sits on an oversized corner lot, which could potentially be split.
Beyond excited to see what Workaday does with this home and in the future. Looking forward to a lot more hangouts (when permissible) as well! Congratulations you two!
