From Alaska to Oregon: Celebrating Caroline’s New Lake Oswego Condo!

By Genmae Rianelli, May 22, 2024

Caroline was referred by some past clients that I had helped when they were ready to purchase their first home! She was ready to make the move to Portland all the way from Alaska so that she could be closer to her family. And this was going to be a big move—she was looking for her forever place, the last place she would plan to buy. So I knew we had to get it just right.

Her wants list was pretty simple: a home near her family that could offer her a sense of community & an ease of living. But one thing was in the way…she needed to get her Alaska home under contract first!

It took more time than we had initially hoped for (and a 60″ snow storm that hit the area didn’t help) but the day finally came when an excited couple who loved her home put in an offer. Once that house was under contract, we were ready to roll on this side & eager to get started!

Caroline came into town for one weekend, determined to find a place during her short trip & we did! A sweet condo that offered her the community she was looking for & the space she needed. Better yet, the location is in great proximity to her family & also in an area she had been excited about before visiting.

We got through negotiations with a price reduction & a special assessment that was paid off prior to closing. Caroline was anxiously awaiting closing day, which turned out to be a big week for her – her Alaska home closed successfully at the same time it was time to wrap up her purchase in Oregon.

To help make the transition as smooth as possible for Caroline, I picked up her keys & coordinated the final touches so that her new condo was ready to move right in when she arrived. Just a few days later, she flew into town, this time to stay, & she finally got to see her new condo for the first time since that first showing along with her family.

Welcome home, Caroline! And welcome to Oregon! I think you’re going to love it here.
