Garden Hideaway + Studio = Bliss!

By Natalie Tracy, May 6, 2019

Helping someone find a home they love is pretty amazing. Helping dear friends find a home they love is amazing and then some! Linda, Maya, Britton, and Jace were on the hunt for a home that would accommodate multi-generational living – a house for parents and kiddo, and a studio for mom.

We had neighborhoods, school boundaries, budget, transit, walkability, and charm all in the mix. We saw a few that were way off the mark, and a few that were close. We saw one that was so very close, until we discovered a precarious unpermitted addition to the house. And then we saw the house. THE house.

An adorable cottage for the family, with a brand new garden studio for mom. We went to see it immediately, knowing it already had one offer, and more on the way. And this sweet family who weren’t quite sure when or how this would play out were ON IT. They were like one mind – they all loved it, they all wanted it, and we just needed to make it happen.

We ended up being one of four offers, and we weren’t the highest. But I knew from talking with the listing agent that this family were exactly the buyers the sellers were hoping for. They didn’t want an Airbnb in their beloved backyard garden – they wanted multigenerational living. With very little back and forth, we made it happen.

And now, it’s all theirs. And because every fairytale needs a fairytale ending – there’s a summer wedding planned in their gorgeous new backyard!
