Homo-ners-R-Us

How does that old saying go… you can’t lose if you don’t try? No, that’s not the one. Oh yeah, it’s “you can’t score if you don’t shoot.” For the readers out there in blogland not privy to the sportsball, that’s a sweet B-Ball reference. Buckets, baby.

Enter my OG Portland homie, Amanda. Her perceived impossibility of being a HOMO-ner was just that, perceived. She spent years knowing the PNW is where she not only wanted to lay down some funky beats (contact for booking – kidding… not really), she also wanted to lay down some roots.

The time for her had finally come to have a place of her own, in the place that she adores. She called me up and said she’s ready to pull a Jane Seymour and open her heart to making moves to buy a home. That’s all I needed to get to WERK. Well, that and some Thai food. Mama’s gotta eat. That night a sense of adventure and a distracting podcast inspired me to take a different route and going right instead of left lead me right there – Neverpants Ranch. Well, that’s what she’s calling it anyway. It was everything she was looking for and a block and a half away from me, making Meatloaf Monday the most convenient communal meal of the week.

Fast forward to now – tonight she came over to lend a hand on our trampoline dream and our aerial desires because hey, that’s what neighbors do. Amanda’s impossible dream is now our neighborhood reality and she couldn’t be happier.
