Make a plan, achieve your dream!

Karen has had the itch to move for a few years. We have talked off and on about what the perfect new home would look like and what area she might want to land in. Her family is very tight, and being near to them was a strong pull. Having lived in a great home with a beautiful yard for 20 years, she didn’t want to move unless the setting was equally as nice. She no longer needed such a large house, and with her family recently moving to Oregon City, and loving it, she was inclined to follow. I set her up to get possible listing matches, so she could get a feel for the market and what kind of homes would be available in the areas she was considering.
Even though Karen took her time getting her finances in order and researching areas, when the right house came up, she was ready to strike! All that preparation gave her the confidence to know when she found “the one.” A beautiful, updated one level home with a large yard, sunset views, pool and detached shop. The house sits on a tree lined street, and all the homes in the area are one-level. There is no looming house to be seen, no rooflines blocking the light, just a tranquil sense of openness and privacy. Karen and her partner Tom, acted quickly, and we put our heads together about an offer. They were competing, so we knew we had to be strategic and smart. Karen’s research was invaluable in her and Tom being well positioned to win. She had been watching the market, knew the inventory, saw pricing trends and totally understood what it would take. I was overjoyed to give them the good news when their offer was accepted! Now we are closed, and I’ll meet them for keys in a week when the seller has moved out. A long journey with a perfect destination!
If you are considering a move, it’s never too early to get in touch with your realtor. Being prepared and making a plan, even if it’s a loose one, is incredibly valuable to reaching your goals!
