Portland Oregon to Portland Maine and back!

By Cristen Lincoln, November 10, 2021

Before the pandemic, Karan and Catherine had plans to move to the east coast to be near family, and try something new. I’ve been helping Karan for many years! As his needs changed through transitions such as getting a dog, building his career, meeting Catie, and creating a family, we worked together as a team as he bought and sold his way around Portland. Knowing his needs and work style, I helped him interview agents in Portland Maine, and we found a great fit. The move east was put in motion with a purchase there; an updated, but older farmhouse on a quarter acre. So picturesque! That was the beginning of 2020, and then pandemic! They charged ahead and we sold their beautiful home in SW for them, and gave a hearty and somewhat sad good bye. They are the most lovely family, and even though I was very excited for them, it felt a little sad that we were parting ways for what seemed like “for good.” Moving to a new place in a pandemic is tough. They left behind a lifetime of friends, connections and support, and being isolated with social distancing, didn’t have an opportunity to get out there and build a new network. Getting ready to welcome their 3rd child, and deeply missing their Oregon people, they decided it was time to come back. I was almost weepy when I got the call! What a surprise! Having worked together so well for so many years, we were able to quickly get them the perfect home. We know their tastes and they trust us to guide them to success in a tough market. We got their first offer accepted even though they were competing, and they will have keys just in time for Thanksgiving. What a special way to celebrate a day dedicated to gratitude!
