It takes a very brave first time home buyer, and a lot of trust, to move forward with a home sight unseen, from across state lines! Well, this is exactly how I’d describe Megan: brave, enthusiastic, not to mention hilarious.
Megan was planning to relocate to Portland from out of state, but couldn’t travel because she’d just adopted a dog that wasn’t keen on being watched by friends, family, or sitters! But she charged forth regardless, touring houses virtually and being open to my thoughts about what was worth pursuing, and what we should let move along.
There was a lot of watching and rewatching of (sometimes dizzying) videos, zooming in on questionable grainy images, holding cell phones in the air to gauge road noise, and long-winded descriptions about how a home feels (by a potentially overly verbose real estate agent). But, we really got in a communication groove, and really figured out how to impart the important thoughts and feelings around a property–Megan asked a lot of great questions.
I’m honored that someone I’d never met put their trust so fully in me, and that we could work together to find her a place she loves to call home. Really, we were great team! And when we DID finally meet over wine here in Portland, we had SO much fun and were fast friends.
It was ridiculously wonderful working with you, Megan—welcome home!
