How to Know if Vancouver’s Lincoln Neighborhood is Right for You

By Carrie Struss, August 16, 2023

As a long-time real estate agent in Vancouver, WA, I know the ins & outs of every neighborhood in the area. One of my favorite districts is the Lincoln neighborhood situated just north of Downtown Vancouver. It’s bordered by West McLoughlin Boulevard to the west, East Reserve Street to the east, West Fourth Plain Boulevard to the south, and West 39th Street to the north.

Like much of Downtown Vancouver, the Lincoln neighborhood exudes a sense of historic charm. You can find various well-preserved older homes, many of which feature unique architectural styles that add character to the area including bungalows, PNW craftsmans, Cape Cods, and my personal favorite, foursquares. The neighborhoods around Downtown Vancouver compile the most historic area in the city, making this spot look and feel most similar to the classic architecture and neighborhoody vibe of inner Portland. If you love older homes, this is where I would recommend that you start your search.

Along with charm, the Lincoln neighborhood has the added convenience of close proximity to Downtown Vancouver, the Waterfront, and Esther Short Park, making it a convenient place to live for those who enjoy an urban lifestyle. Residents have easy access to a wide range of downtown shops, restaurants, wineries, and bars. And for those Friday Night Lights fans, Kiggins Bowl hosts the Vancouver school district high school football games including the Fort Vancouver Trappers, Hudson’s Bay Eagles, and the Skyview Storm. Easy access to I5 also makes this an ideal location for commuters to downtown Portland if you are willing to deal with traffic on the bridge.
