Isabel and David are a young power couple that I met last year in an open house for one of my listings. I normally don’t focus on attracting buyers during my open houses, but rather on promoting the house I am selling. However, the three of us connected right away. I loved their thirst to learn and their practical demeanor, as well as the mix of intelligence and instinct they applied in their decision making.
Our relationship flourished and I helped them purchase an investment property at the end of last year. This year, they were looking for their own home, since they were planing to get married at the end of summer. Many options were on the table, but one aspect was evident, their attraction for good quality design and architecture. We visited many beautiful homes on the West Hills, several of them had been designed by renowned Portland architect Saul Zaik, they always looked unique and interesting; a step up from everything else.
We did not loose a single minute, when a listing for a Zaik property came up for sale. The location was perfect, secluded, but close to the city and their work place. The setting idilic, amongst centenary fir trees and mountain views in the horizon. The home was designed around an exoskeleton structure that allowed for completely open spaces. The home would need updating, but that would be the fun part.
Isabel and David’s excitement was palpable, they had to buy this very special home, so we started to devise the strategy. A campaign to communicate with the agent from different fronts, write 2 personal letters to the original owners of the house and put together a very competitive offer. The effort worked like a charm and, once the offer was accepted, the transaction closed without a hiccup.
Yesterday Isabel and David started the moving process. I can’t wait to see the potential they will unveil in their new home. It is a real treasure, and with their eye for style, the sky is the limit.
