About Downtown Portland
For All Occasions
Downtowns, as a rule, can be daunting and only for “special occasions,” but thanks to public transportation and an approachable vibe, Portland’s central hub is quite welcoming to locals. Downtown Portland features an eclectic dining scene, ranging from food trucks to high-end bistros. It’s also one of the easiest places to shop with local boutiques and large chain stores at Pioneer Place. Catch a movie at one of several theaters, or a French film at the Northwest Film Center. Summer is an especially nice time downtown with the Saturday Market and several music, food, and beer festivals in Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
