Isaac and Marina just bought their very first house in Portland, OR. We met yesterday to take possession of their awesome bungalow on the west side of the Alameda ridge, bathed in bright light and charm. As we wander along the empty rooms we marvel at how smooth and easy the whole experience has been.
My customers went to the open house right after this home hit the market and then the snow started to fall over Portland, which undermined the amount of showings and buyer competition. By then Isaac and Marina had committed to buying the house, their assertiveness and resolve paid off, so we quickly wrote a clean offer at asking price and got into contract. It took them exactly 1 week to find the perfect home, in the perfect location and under budget.
The process was a walk in the park after that. The house was in top shape with the inspector finding just minor repairs, the very considerate lender waved appraisal since buyers were putting 50% in down payment, and we could not have asked for a better sellers’ agent and seller.
Isaac and Marina, who came to Portland about a year ago on a job transfer from Barcelona, couldn’t believe that purchasing a house in the US would be so easy. I personally think that their cool disposition and can do attitude played a big role on the victorious outcome.
