All My Rowdy Friends Have Settled Down

By Constance Rigney, February 26, 2021

Stephanie and I have some stories….In days gone by, we’ve been road dogs, travel buddies, wingmen, and accomplices.  Sometimes making fast friends, and sometimes quick getaways.  Often causing a joyous ruckus.

We have spent the better part of thirty years as best friends.

I hung up my dancing shoes a little earlier than Steph, settling into married mama life.  She continued to travel the world, be the life of the party, and evolve into one very badass criminal defense attorney.

Wildly successful and unencumbered.  She would always tell me that home ownership was not for her; she didn’t need to be tied down to anything.  She was still footloose and fancy free.

Then, one day, I got the call…..

“I’m ready to buy a house,” she said. And, she was!

We looked at only a handful of houses before a sweet atomic ranch caught her eye.  Low maintenance, one level, no nonsense.  It was perfect.

Boom!  In a matter of days she beat out the competition, and sealed the deal.  We moved swiftly to closing, and with a great agent on the other side, the transaction was smooth as butter.

Now Stephanie not only has a house, but a big ‘ol pitbull named Gordy. Formerly abused and abandoned, Steph has brought him into her home and her heart.  It has been such a wonderful match!

These days you’ll find Stephanie in her beautiful home, with her lucky dog, living a much more domestic existence. My rowdy friend seems to have truly settled down.

But, there is still that twinkle in her eye……

Congratulations on your home, my dear friend!  I am truly so happy you have crossed over to the boring side 😉

What I love about the field of real estate is that essentially, it’s about dreams and possibilities. It’s about finding a space that can support the life you are envisioning and crafting.

Whether purchasing your first home, dialing in your next investment property, or selling your home, my goal as your agent is to be your ally and advocate, to work diligently and creatively to help you through the process. What distinguishes me from other REALTORS®? My style in both real estate, and the rest of life, is down to earth and humorous; my spirit warm and enthusiastic. Being flexible, thorough, ethical, and a topnotch communicator are the cornerstones of my business. I am a dedicated worker and won’t stop until I get the job done! I grew up on the East Coast, but my sense of adventure brought me to Oregon, where I found a richness of community, and a great love for the wondrous natural environment of the Northwest.  I spent ten years in this city as a practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, all the while learning about Portland’s neighborhoods, and hidden gems, through the stories of the fascinating people that call this lovely city home. Joyfully part of a dream team, I’m currently partnered with Matt Guy, wonderful human and long time real estate whiz. We work expeditiously to successfully help our clients turn their vision into reality. In my free time you might find me living the VW Van life with my dreamy husband, Scott, and firecracker daughter Roslyn; soaking up the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, supporting local non-profits, or celebrating Portland’s local music scene.
