An Oasis in the City – Dahl Beach City Park

By Living Room Realty, September 4, 2020

We are all looking for ways to get away without getting away, and ways to be with people without being too close to them. While the sun is out, grab your people, a picnic basket, and a towel and head to Dahl Park in Gladstone. It is less than half an hour’s drive from SE Portland, and is the perfect beach escape without having to brave the traffic or the crowds of the Oregon Coast.

Refurbished in 2016, Dahl Park is large enough for you to stay socially distanced within your group as well as socially distanced from other people. It has ball fields, a community garden, picnic tables, a beach, and great fishing! You can spend the day laying around the park, or if you want to get a little more adventurous you can rent a kayak or stand up paddle board from Oregon Kayak Rental. Once you hop in (or on) your water conveyance of choice, you can paddle up north on the Willamette to Cedar Island Park – a 14 acre park only accessibly by water or by foot bridge from West Linn. Hop out and take a leisurely hike, or just sit quietly and enjoy the wildlife and solitude of this secluded park.
