Beginner’s Luck

By Living Room Realty, January 15, 2021

It’s no secret that the Portland/Vancouver market is still on fire! First time buyers are already pretty scared, then you throw them into a hurricane of a market and it can be exponentially intimidating. I met Caitlin and Drew over the phone the first time, as we discussed timeline, budget, wish lists and expectations. They seemed surprisingly calm and prepared, so the hunt began! We saw four houses on our first tour, and they fell in love with the very first one we saw. I will admit that I was a bit apprehensive for two reasons. One: I saw that the house went pending in and out a few times, which raised some red flags. Two: had they really seen enough to feel this confident in the house? But we knew that we were in a fast and furious multiple offer market.. and we optimistically made an offer. Not only did we get the house, we were able to negotiate some necessary repairs and slide into a smooth close! Congrats on your first home, I hope it’s as enjoyable as you have been!
