Breaking Even and Beyond: How Shawn and Jorge Sold Their SE Portland Home in Record Time

What happens when you buy a house, then get engaged and combine dreams for the future?….You buy a brand new house!

I met Shawn just under two years ago when I helped him purchase a home in SE Portland. At the time, he was purchasing on his own in a new location. One proposal and two years later, we started discussions to find Shawn and Jorge a home that was theirs to become a family in.

Selling a house less than two years after purchasing it seemed like a questionable financial decision. The big question: Has the market appreciated enough to break even after closing costs? Will Shawn lose the money he invested? We crunched the numbers and knew what sale price we needed to hit to break even and recoup his down payment. Checking the market statistics, comparable home sales, and projecting future market trends, I knew it was possible to not just break even but (hopefully) net some cash for their next home. However, this could not be done without presenting a pristine product. This job was made easy by the love Shawn and Jorge had already poured into their first home as well as their meticulous nature to care for its maintenance. And it worked! Their home in SE Portland sold for over the asking price in less than a week with multiple offers. And now they’re happily settling into their new home together in Happy Valley!

Shawn and Jorge are an absolute dream to work with. They are gold star clients, doing everything they possibly could to make the transaction go well for everyone involved. Also can you tell how much fun we had?? I cannot even call it work with these two because they fill my life with such joy. I am so grateful for their trust.
