Blog Buyer Cathedral sized Garage

Cathedral sized Garage

By Jené DeSpain, August 11, 2021

Just a hop from the local shops and amenities of Kenton’s main drag, we found just what my client was looking for – her dream bungalow, with a lovely yard, on a quiet street, close to the Yellow Max line station. The unbelievable bonus it came with? A massive, brand new, double garage with side entrances, multiple windows, and high cathedral ceilings. A creative Portland homeowner’s dream. The entire garage was permitted, even down the their selection of drywall, to boot. Absolute score. We swooned over the the loft she could build, creating an upstairs bedroom that looked down on the open layout below. A dryer plug already existed in the back west corner, exactly where she was hoping for a laundry/bathroom to go. The cement floor perfectly poured for an industrial styled kitchen and open dining room. We even called the city and spoke to the designer who approved the garage build a few years ago and she confirmed it was ADU compliant! Today, we had the joy of picking up the keys from the sellers who live across the street. They warmly shared one of the reasons they selected my client’s offer was they really adored seeing her arrive at each of our visits prior to her offer submission (we visited 3 times!) on her bicycle.

Congratulations Becca! It’s been such a wonderful journey searching for your beautiful home together. I can’t wait to come visit and watch all the incredible creative projects you will bring to your home over the years ahead! 🖤
