ESTIMATED PROPHET

By Living Room Realty, November 24, 2020

My time coming, anyday, don’t worry about me, no
Been so long I felt this way, I’m in no hurry, no
Rainbows and down that highway where ocean breezes blow
My time coming, voices saying they tell me where to go.

Don’t worry about me, nah nah nah, don’t worry about me, no
And I’m in no hurry, nah nah nah, I know where to go.

California, preaching on the burning shore
California, I’ll be knocking on the golden door
Like an angel, standing in a shaft of light
Rising up to paradise, I know I’m gonna shine….

Estimated Prophet, written by Bob Weir and John Perry Barlow, is pretty out there just like most of the tracks on the bands 1977 release: Terrapin Station. This song in particular is an acquired taste that sometimes never quite clicks for some folks…but has always been a favorite of mine.

What on earth does that have to do with my recent closing on SW Pendleton Ave in Portland? I have no idea, but I do know that this song gets stuck in my head whenever I have a client move here from California. Like many things 2020—there is no logical explanation. I am a Dead Head a heart and my mind is always stuck in the music.
