Finding Home Again

By Living Room Realty, February 16, 2018

As is often the case after going through a divorce, there is a transition period before establishing new roots.  The transition period for this family was moving from a home to an apartment.  While their transition period was pleasant enough, Weston realized that he had been throwing away money by  paying rent over the last several years.  This pained him even more as he watched Portland housing prices continue to increase.   After looking carefully at the numbers, he calculated that the money he spent on rent was equivalent to a sizable down payment.

Coming to that realization, Weston decided purchase a home again!  His strategy was to start looking at homes in the winter in attempt to beat the crazy market that we often see in the spring.  It worked!  Weston and the boys were able to swoop in and get this adorable bungalow in the Beaumont neighborhood without much competition.  They are looking forward to being home owners again, especially Charlie who has already drawn up plans to get his own room in the basement!  Congratulations!!!
