Among the many lessons that I have learned practicing my profession, one of the most important is that gut feelings are real. The fact that Mary and Lexie are the new owners of this home is yet another example.
They were very clear in their requests. Location had to be in their favorite neighborhood, where they were already living, and the home had to exude character. They also needed two bright and welcoming rooms to act as offices. The rest was secondary.
We visited two homes that were not quite right and went pending at ridiculously high prices. A few weeks passed with nothing hitting the market until they sent me the listing for what would end up becoming their home.
The pictures were promising, amazing craftsman architecture with an ample front porch, coffered ceilings, leaded glass windows, upstairs balcony and all the rooms drenched in bright light. The visit sealed the deal, this house was freaking great, so Mary and Lexie wrote an offer, but they were outbid and ended up accepting backup position.
I couldn’t believe it, because I had the feeling and conviction that this was the one for my customers, it was too perfect not to be! And sure enough, after a week of going pending, the first buyers withdrew from the purchase and the rest is history.
