I KNEW WE’D GET THERE!

By Living Room Realty, September 17, 2020

Buying a house in a competitive market is always a challenge. It can be a roller coaster ride with big emotional swings in every direction. For my client Ruth it was no different. We had to write 4 offers before we finally got one to stick. The first 3 were all great houses, but the 4th was the best for a variety of reasons the most important being that it was “done”.

Along the way it always feels like you are never going to win. But if you persist…you’ll always get an offer accepted. Just ask Ruth! As an agent I am keenly aware of the energy and love that goes into each offer. By asking the right questions of any listing agent, I can get a gauge of whether or not it is worth even trying to submit an offer. Certain properties are clearly out of reach and it is not worth draining the energy bank. It is important to keep an active measurement of how much energy you have as a buyer, because each offer draws a certain amount and you don’t want to deplete your reserves too quickly.

The Portland real estate market is hot, but if you stick with it, you can have your own little piece of it, I promise.
