I Love When A Plan Comes Together!

By Leanne Bach, January 15, 2021

Sam and Karen were referred to me from a financial planner client of mine. Moving here from the southwest and dreaming of retiring in the Pacific NW, they landed in Sandy temporarily, to get the lay of the land. They’ve since realized that they want to be closer in to the city, and wanted a newer built home with a low maintenance yard. Our plan, initially, was to meet and look at 2 properties that piqued their interest online. One attached home and one detached home with a larger yard. Low maintenance was key to them because, hello! Retired! It’s travel time!
My plan was to introduce them to multiple neighborhoods so they can get a good feel of where they wanted to land. We had plenty of time to play with, and besides, they were leaving in a few days to Hawaii, so there was no need to rush.
Lo and behold, they fell in love with house number two. It was a beautifully built house and just came back on the market after a failed sale. It checked all the boxes and took everyone by surprise. We made an offer and the rest is history. The Hawaii trip was more of a celebration than it was planned to be and they got to come home to a brand new home. It was probably the quickest turn around I’ve ever had in my career, and I didn’t get to spend as much time with these clients, but they knew what they wanted, so we made it happen. I wish them the best in their next chapter!
