I would say that I am happy for the sale of my client’s house on S. Springwater Road in Estacada, but I know that this sale was bittersweet for them. I got to know Shawn and Christina three years ago when I helped them with the purchase of their home. We looked at homes in Washington and in rural areas outside of Portland. I remember the day that we found this house. There was a storm in Portland that day. This created extra stress for Shawn and Christina as they were in town for a week and were on a mission to find the perfect place before flying back home. Despite the icy and snowy roads, we made our way to Estacada to see S. Springwater. We approached an enormous front door. As we entered the house, we were greeted with sunlight beaming through the floor to ceiling windows. And then, as Shawn and Christina took in the view out those windows, I could see on their faces that this was going to be their new home.
I know they have loved this house like no other. It is apparent in the letter they wrote to the new buyer about the amazing sunrises, about the deer and birds who visit often, about seeing Mount Hood while drinking their morning coffee. However, life sometimes has different plans for us. For reasons beyond their control, my clients needed to move again closer to family. Shawn and Christina sent me a photo of their next house. It looks amazing as well. I’m sad to see them leave the Portland area and sorry they could not continue to enjoy everything S. Springwater has to offer. I am excited for them to begin the next chapter of their lives and feel so grateful to have been the one they choose to help them with their journey.
