I first met Chris and Susan at the end of last year. They contacted me online before their Christmas visit to Manzanita from Idaho. We instantly began emailing back and forth regarding the Manzanita market conditions and what to expect. The low inventory at the coast was readily apparent to them and I quickly began educating them about the competitive market and preparing them for a lengthy process. As it turned out, during their Christmas visit we were only able to view one home, which turned out to not be a good fit for the couple and their family. So, they returned to Idaho and the search continued.
Fast forward to January and THE home for them appeared. They knew it was going to be competitive…and it was. The offer deadline came and went and I knew the fact that we hadn’t heard anything wasn’t a good sign. The seller had accepted another offer. Understandably disappointed, we went back to the drawing board.
About two weeks went by and as I was looking through the MLS, I saw that the property had been withdrawn. Doing my homework, I found out that the offer was withdrawn because there had been issues with some work that had been done to the home and the buyers just didn’t want to deal with negotiation and doing their due diligence. So, I immediately let Susan and Chris know. They did their due diligence and found that the issue was something they would be happy to address and negotiate with the seller. In the end, we were able to find a happy medium that made both sides happy! Needless to say, Susan and Chris are thrilled to have a home at the beach for their family and future retirement. Congratulations to Chris and Susan! I am beyond thrilled that the stars aligned for you in this crazy low inventory seller’s market.
