The Portland market has been really tough on buyers this season with a record low inventory and multiple offer situations left and right. My client Elaine, a brand-new Portland transplant, a busy nurse during a pandemic with two fur babies in-tow, came just in time to experience it in its full glory.
After recently selling her home in Seattle, then essentially being displaced in Portland until she found the right fit, she bounced around short-term rentals with her pets while we searched. Her situation could have really drained the fun out of the homebuying process, as we had mostly dark fall and winter nights and rainy weekends to hunt, and all of her belongings were in storage. Yet somehow she not only kept her spirits and energy up, she also kept her cool.
Elaine was steadfast in her goals, and determined to find a solid fit.
Elaine remained level-headed throughout the whole process, and when we found the house that checked all of her boxes, she won a multiple offer situation using creative terms – even without being the highest offer submitted. Sometimes it’s about being the BEST offer, not the highest, and that’s where having an experienced broker is key!
Congratulations Elaine, Bently, and Winston! Welcome home!
