Once upon a time I was selling a house in Overlook and this sweet couple, Josh and Erin, were the buyers. Fast forward a couple of years, they were on to new adventures and decided to sell. Lucky me, they asked me to list it! Pretty fun to sell the same house twice! They relocated to Arizona..then California and eventually decided it was time to make their way back up to Portland.
We started a conversation about what they wanted in a home, one that just might be their forever home, which areas of Portland appealed to them and of course the budget. They have family in SE and dreamed of being able to walk to each others houses for coffee, dinner or a snuggle with their niece and nephew.
During their search they were still in California so we toured via facetime. We sussed out the street, the neighbors, the bones of the house and all the quirks of each property. There was a house that had been on the market for a couple of weeks and had been crossed off the list early on. They circled back to it based on location and condition, it is a well maintained home with a high end remodel and top notch seismic upgrades! We toured via facetime and they decided to write an offer. It is always a little nerve-wracking to have a client write on a house they haven’t toured in real life. Offer was accepted and Josh flew up for the inspection. Holding my breath a little, I met him at the house the morning of the inspection, huge sigh of relief, he loves it!
We closed yesterday and in a few days Erin and their pup Moon will see their new home! It is a great honor to have loyal clients that fully trust my expertise and while I wouldn’t always want to practice real estate in this way, it was pretty fun!
