Milwaukie is Portland’s neighbor to the south east. It’s become more popular in recent years as prices in the metro area continue to rise while lot sizes shrink. The Orange Line provides a direct link between Milwaukie and Downtown Portland making the location pretty darn connected these days.
I live in Milwaukie. My family and I bought a house in the hills a couple years back. I love the trees, the view, the wild spaces. I especially love the neighbors and community. And one of my favorite ways to celebrate community is to attend the Sunday Farmer’s Market.
Located in the historic downtown area, the farmer’s market is quite the weekly event each summer. The well-curated vendors include everyone from local pig farmers to artisan jewelry makers to organic wineries. You might find a booth with $5 bicycle helmets for sale or free library books for little ones to take home. Every week you can enjoy live music while you run into your friends and neighbors while they shop. My family makes the market a weekly event. It’s one of the best parts of living in our community!
My longtime client Jorge just closed on a fixer house around the corner from this market. He is going to renovate it and make it shine again and I can’t wait to see the final product! Some lucky new buyer is going to have the opportunity to be around the corner from my favorite Sunday pastime when he’s all done. Look out for a great new listing coming soon!
