I’ve never touched a real bunny before.. until I met Lucy. A bunny the size of most house cats, my fingers ran through her fluffy fur and floppy ears. I tried to stay professional, but squealed like a little kid with excitement.. after all, this was our first client meeting (stay cool, Nichole! Stay cool!). That day I met the entire “fur farm”; Lucy the bunny, Scout the world’s coolest dog (that I named Detective for her excellent house tour skills), and Norm the cat. I quickly fell in love with the entire family including their beautiful teen- we just fit like a glove. Showing appreciation for a particularly hard day’s efforts, Zach vowed that they would name their next pet after me. Sure, this sounds a little funny.. but it wouldn’t if you knew her! Soon enough we found the perfect home, went through some bumpy negotiations, and while in the thick of things- I was asked an off question “what’s your nickname” (again.. not so weird if you knew her). I shot back my college nickname, Tricky Nikki, thinking I was being funny and continued with my work. Next thing I knew- the family announced they were now the proud owners of a small Hamster Mafia- Tricky Nikki and Fat Dave, getaway car and all! This deal started with a first, and definitely ended with one!
