Moving to Portland?  Stuck on which neighborhood might be your fit?

First, Portland is split down the middle by the Willamette River (pronounced “will-AAAH-met”).  On the west side you will find the downtown area, the part with buildings.  It looks like a normal city. Most Portlanders describe the west side as more traditional. It’s where you’ll find most of the city’s art galleries, public transportation, and public art. Southwest Portland has Portland State University and some really cool homes above it called “the West Hills”, none of which I can afford.  NW Portland is pretty hip, but the parking sucks.  There is a GIANT park in NW called Forest Park where you can see owls in trees and run trails till you feel dizzy.  If your looking for a swank condo then the Pearl District might be just right for you.

The east side is everything east of the river: Northeast, Southeast, and North Portland. Most east side locals will be quick to tell you it’s the quirkier and more eclectic half of Portland. The east side is very bike-friendly and more affordable on average than the west side. It’s also home to many Victorian era homes, people with chickens in their back yards, and there are pockets of shops, restaurants, funky movie theaters and parks.  There’s also lots and lots and lots of coffee shops.

My advice-  Hire a REALTOR® to show you around when you book your visit to PDX..  You could almost throw a dart at a map and end up happy in Portland.  The “almost” part is important though.  Listen up – this is when you should pick up the phone or send us an email to be your guide. Let us help you find your correct fit so you don’t throw that dart with your eyes closed.  Let’s throw the dart with EYES OPEN.  Plus, Chris and I are pretty fun guides.
