No Race to Win

Lupin and Rich started talking with us about making a move 5 years ago. They wanted to find their forever home but didn’t know exactly what that looked like, and that was okay with us. Lupin an avid gardener and landscape designer, knew it had to offer plenty of room to play in the dirt, be further outside the city and have room to roam inside and out. Rich loved their current home, living near Hawthorne and being able to walk to everything. Lupin knew the house and property would have to be just right to get his attention and to get him excited about a move.

They agreed on the location, near Milwaukie where their son attends The Waldorf school. If they could get close to the water too that would be a big bonus. However when we started looking Milwaukie did not have much to offer so we spent time searching in Oregon City, West Linn and even parts of Tualatin. We saw homes all across the board, some with over 5 acres, work shops, room for horses and gardens galore. Finding the balance of an updated home with a nice piece of land was proving tough to find.

We took long breaks from searching but when a home that looked like it checked a lot of boxes would pop up and we would quickly go check it out. To our dismay it seemed there was always something a little off. We didn’t lose hope but we always kept an eye out for just the right fit.

In the midst of considering making an offer on a 5 acre parcel, way out of the city,  a new listing popped up in Milwaukie! It had been beautifully remodeled, sat on a little over a quarter acre in a lovely established neighborhood. The river was just a quick bike ride away. We got them in quickly, Lupin and Rich saw it and right away they knew it was their house! After all the searching this was finally IT and they both couldn’t be more excited. We knew it was going to go fast because of just how stunning the remodel was and the awesome location. With 5 offers in total we knew it would be a fight to get it under contract. Luckily Lupin and Rich brought a killer offer and came out on top.

After 5 years of searching they finally found their forever home! It is a property worth the wait, we are so excited for them!
