Sometimes you live in a neighborhood that holds that special place in your heart. And sometimes that place keeps calling you back. I helped Brad buy his first house in North Portland a few years ago. He moved out of a rental off of SE Hawthorne. The house was brand new and had an ADU on the first level. While the house is lovely, Brad couldn’t shake the desire to move back to his old SE Portland neighborhood.
He was casually looking when a small condo came to market directly on SE Hawthorne. The original charm was in tact and the price couldn’t be beat. The space is very small, around 350 square feet. It is laid out to make maximum use of the space. The living room doubles as the bedroom with a Murphy bed and the hall closet is oversized to be used as both the coat closet and bedroom closet. The kitchen is concise and efficient with a wall of windows to let in the light. We walked though once and Brad knew he wanted to write an offer on this condo. After some negotiation we were able to secure the property $20,000 under the list price. After 3 weeks I am on my way to deliver keys to Brad to his new condo!
