Hi Readers!
This one’s a story about hard work, vision and new beginnings. My sellers Jeremy and Stephanie were ready for a change of scenery and looking to head south to Bend. They were introduced to me by friends and clients whom I helped sell and buy for earlier this summer (thanks again, Amy and Patrick!).
They’d put a lot of work into their cute NoPo ranch near the University, and the home had a lot going for it. Oversized lot with a bonkers yard and garden. Single level layout. Big windows. A killer party room. Plenty of storage. But they knew it needed some “oomph”. Enter Gab! I showed up with my clipboard (cliche, I know, but they work!) and looked at the house through the lens of today’s buyer, in the $450 – 500K price point. J + S had a financial goal in mind and in order to reach it, they were going to need to put some additional sweat equity into the house.
They had some dated flooring and heavy furniture that made the media/family room smaller, with rich red walls. I suggested a light gray durable carpet and shared the staging vision I had for that room. The single bathroom felt small, had chipped flooring and also felt a little dated. I suggested a swap out of the vanity, new tile floor, fresh paint and a pop of color. They also had a few hours of elbow grease to put in, polishing hardwoods, trimming and pruning, and getting the house show ready. And they had 3 weeks to do it.
I knew when I got a text from them that first weekend in with a photo of a demolished bathroom they were my kind of people.
This week, we closed on the sale of their home, well above asking. It was a multiple offer situation, and the house was on the market two days. The right buyers are moving in to start their new beginnings in NoPo, and Jeremy and Steph have the cash in their pocket to start their next chapter in Bend. Winning!
If you are thinking about selling, I hope you reach out. Buyers are really hungry for great inventory, and I can help you get ready quickly, cost-effectively, and relatively painlessly. I’ll even bring my clipboard.
Till then, high fives!
