Story and Kathryn are about to start the next chapter of their family life by moving to a special home in Lake Oswego. Like most big decisions, leaving their beloved Laurelhurst neighborhood was a hard choice to make, but the call of a quieter, more peaceful life has been persistent and ultimately, Kathryn and Story made the decision to try someplace new for their gang.
Their new home isn’t huge, or fancy, but it’s special; truly special. Once or twice a year we see a home that makes us stop and take notice! A home that creeps into our heart and soul, and joyfully announces its noteworthy presence. Kathryn and Story’s new home on Olson Ct. is just such a home. There’s the exceptional quality of building that resulted from a custom build, and obvious pride of ownership from the recent, sole owners. There are lots of technical building specifics we could throw at you to impress you builder types, but more simply put, when we look at the ceiling of an unfinished basement and there’s not a cobweb, nor a crack, nor a nail hole or even a speck of dirt behind the furnace, well, you know that you are viewing a home that has been lovingly cared for.
But beyond the quality of craftsmanship, the light flooded public rooms, and spacious cheerful kitchen, is the lot. This home is perched on top of a gentle slope that unfolds to the south western valley below, and oh the things that you can view from the front stoop, or the side balcony, or the living room, the dining area, or even the downstairs, daylight basement bedroom! The lot is so perfectly situated that there are territorial views from just about every room in the house. The rest of the windows that aren’t south or west facing, get to ponder the lush and private garden lot that surrounds this cheery home.
So here’s to lucky Story and Kathryn for nabbing such a remarkable property. We can’t wait to see how your lives take root and blossom on Olson Ct!
