Whew, we did it! My octogenarian clients deserve a MASSIVE congrats on selling their home of 26 years in Troutdale.
I first met Carolyn and William when I was door-knocking for an open house I was hosting three doors down from them. That was in the spring of 2018. Carolyn invited me in to show me her house, and sent me off with a Christmas cactus. We kept in touch via snail mail over the years, since they knew they’d be wanting to sell at some point.
COVID delayed their plans, but in the spring of 2021, they reached out once again. In additional to Carolyn and William, Carolyn’s sister, Marolyn was also on title. Marolyn had lived with W+C and had helped take care of their beloved mother until she passed away. In 2020, Marolyn moved out of state to be closer to her niece and niece’s family.
Packing up their home of 26 years proved no easy feat, and we had to delay listing a few times, but the house finally hit the market and received 5 beautiful offers. One offer was even willing to waive the inspection contingency! But my sellers connected with the buyers who were looking for a multi-generational home to care for their aging father. These buyers were FHA and minimal down payment, and had made over 10 offers over the past year. While we had our pick of the litter, my Sellers felt strongly about choosing them.
We sailed through the transaction with minimal negotiations and were even able to close 3 days early. Congratulations to Marolyn, William, and Carolyn – cheers to your next chapter!
