JR and Valeria love to ski. They decided to move to the Portland area to spend as much time as possible enjoying Mt. Hood. One of my favorite things about this beautiful place is that we are right between multiple attractions: the beach, wine country, and the slopes are all nearby. It’s such a great place to live!
When we first started working together it became clear that JR and Valeria didn’t know what neighborhood they wanted to be in. We checked out everything from Beaverton to Gresham and talked about the pros/cons of each location. I started noticing a pattern in the homes they were attracted to: almost all of them were treed lots and near green space. I knew that access to the slopes was priority, so I gently nudged them east of the Willamette river. That commute doesn’t look bad on a map but it can be a doozy in real life!
On a brief trip into town, JR decided to check out Sandy. It’s a great little town very close to the slopes and about a 45 minute drive from inner PDX. He fell in love with the area, and we found a great house there a couple of days later. It was a competitive situation with a higher offer than ours on the table, but great terms and a strong relationship with the list agent won out in the end. I got to hand keys to these new Oregonians yesterday! Now they get to spend as much time as they want on the slopes and head home to their treed lot when they’re done for the day.
Congrats, JR and Valeria!
